My Lovely Laundry Room

So, my friend Tracy told you all about her hubby Darrin that creates these visions in my busy head that is constantly thinking of other things to make. Well, here is my luandry room that he helped me create. I love it, I even do more laundry. We live in an 100+ year old family farmhouse. Unfortunately, the chimney is boarded up in the kitchen and "closet" aka laundry room. Well, as Darrin was taking down the walls that were there he discovered the beautiful rock chimney that I love. It looks just like the one on the outside of the house. Needless to say we had to expose it.
So, here are pictures of the process.

Mossy Creek Cottage -Tracey's happy place to dream and create. Put together from an old barn Darrin tore down and some old lumber someone had laying around, old used chicken house tin of my grandfather's, a $17. box of nails and lots of work from my talented husband, we created this one of a kind retreat in our backyard. It is a cozy little place that my family can go and just relax or sit on the front porch and watch the day go by. Future plans are to add on a "sleeping porch" to the back along with a small courtyard with a seperate 12x12 or 10x10 little workshop. Darrin has his own workshop but he wants me to have my own so I want keep messing up his. I love my little cottage!
About my friend Leigh Ann, she is way more creative than I am, her house should be on the cover of Southern Living. I have enlisted her to make my house beautiful and she has enlisted my husband as her carpenter so that he can make what she creates in that head of hers. She and I have similar taste in junk which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Good if we want to trade furniture or something but can turn into bad if we junk together and find something we both can't live without. HAHAHA! I love brain storming with her over the phone about paint colors for my house or what she is going to cover with tin next. She is at that place in life where she is not intimidated by decorating with flair like using tin on her kitchen ceiling or putting a little chandelier in over her washer and dryer. I have always been so worried about permanently messing something up that it has been hard to get too creative but with Leigh Ann's guidance I should be transformed by the end of this year.
With this blog we hope to link up with other "junkin" folks and exchange ideas, pictures, stories, and how to's and so on . We will post plenty of pictures of Leigh Ann's southern living house remodels and my homes transformation into yesteryear. Shabby Chic, Country Cottage, Beach Cottage, with a little mountain cabin sort of covers the stuff I like so let's see what little "Ms.Flair" can come up with!!!!!

Even Mamas love to dream.....

We talk and talk about all the things we want to do but it is doing it that is the problem. With kids, jobs, husbands, homes, and all the other things life throws us it is hard to follow through with our dreams. Well, here is the start of two Mossy Creek girls that love JUNK.
